Hassel & Teudt history – Danish engineering and design heritage since 1857
Since 1857, Hassel & Teudt has stood as a symbol of uncompromising quality, technical precision and timeless Danish design. Founded as a machine factory in the heart of Copenhagen, the company quickly grew into one of Denmark's most recognized manufacturers of pumps, valves, firefighting equipment and special fittings.
Royal Court Supplier
In 1886, Hassel & Teudt was appointed Royal Court Supplier, an appointment that confirmed the company's role as a supplier of the highest quality to the court. At the same time, the company played a pioneering role in the introduction of electricity in Denmark, responsible for early electrical installations at Amalienborg, which set the standard for modern technological infrastructure in the capital.
The company also produced iconic design objects that can still be experienced as living heritage in Copenhagen: the robust and elegant Copenhagen benches from the late 19th century, and the handmade HT Rustik lamp series from the 1960s, which today are considered among the most sought-after collector's items.
As early as 1888, Hassel & Teudt manufactured fittings, including for fire extinguishing, and in the early 1900s, elegant fittings for sinks and bathtubs were developed. The products combined function, durability and aesthetics – principles that still characterize the company's work today.
The legacy is continued in Copenhagen 1888
The Kjøbenhavn 1888 luminaire series is a direct continuation of Hassel & Teudt's proud engineering and design tradition. The series takes inspiration from the original catalogues and designs from the late 19th century and interprets them with today's advanced materials and technical standards.
Each faucet is made of solid brass with ceramic valves and precision-machined components that ensure durability for decades. Kjøbenhavn 1888 is not just a faucet – it is a statement of craftsmanship, timeless classic elegance and the Danish engineering that has left its mark on both private homes and royal buildings for over 150 years.
With Kjøbenhavn 1888, the prestige of history is brought into modern luxury homes – where every detail testifies to a heritage that combines classic design, functionality and uncompromising quality.
